After just six episodes, season 4 of Rock the Block has come to an end. The too-short series packed in big design ideas from some of our favorite HGTV stars, and anticipation was high for the finale episode. Previous Rock the Block winners Jasmine Roth, Egypt Sherrod, and Mike Jackson had the tall task of choosing a winner, which they determined by deciding which team added the most value to the home. Teams were given one last chance to improve their homes by updating the study and bonus garage.
Teams included HGTV stars Sarah and Bryan Baeumeler from Renovation Island; Michel Smith Boyd and Anthony Elle from Luxe for Less; Jonathan Knight and Kristina Crestin from Farmhouse Fixer; and Page Turner and Mitch Glew from Fix My Flip. They have joined forces to renovate the kitchen, living area, master suite, lower level, and exterior. Before the final episode, here’s how the teams stacked up: Jonathan and Kristina had two wins, and the remaining three teams had one each.

After careful evaluations, the judges came to their final decision. Before the show the began, the houses were valued at $1.9 million, and each duo was given $250,000 to improve and finish the home. Mike told the teams, “Every house is amazing and different. You guys should be very proud of yourselves.” While there was just a $75,000 difference between all of the houses, Michel and Anthony were crowned the winners, with a house that appraised at a whopping $2.85 million (which, Egypt announced, is a Rock the Block record).
What do the Michel and Anthony win? They get their name on the street sign and serious Rock the Block bragging rights.
Sarah shared some behind-the-scenes photos from the series and was flooded with comments. One fan wrote, “Your house was serene, classy and on point for the location. You & Bryan should have won. Your design was so elegant and elevated to match the location.” Another said, “I was disappointed and surprised. Not that the other houses weren’t amazing but I think yours was by far the classiest and a step above. Exceptionally done. Serene and just fit in with the Mountain scenery.” One commented, “Wow! How can judges be so WRONG???”

Although, there were many fans who thought the judges made the right decision. “I love the fact that you were so different from the rest and it’s your signature, I couldn’t be more proud! If people didn’t know who @michelboyd and @anthonyelle are, they do now,” one said. “I’m so glad they won!!! They had the best living room, and that speak easy room was to die for! So deserving,” another said.
Regardless of what fans think, Bryan and Sarah were not disappointed by the outcome. After the winner was announced, Bryan said, “I did not expect this level of competition. I didn’t expect not to be disappointed at all if we didn’t win, and I’m not. I’m really happy, and all of the teams are super skilled, super talented.”
Renovation Island fans, you won’t have to wait long to see Bryan and Sarah back on TV. While there is no news about the future of their Caerula del Mar series, they will appear on the next season of Battle of the Beach when the show returns in June.
