I don’t exactly make it a secret that I love KitchenAid stand mixers. These American-made mixers are some of the most popular on the market, and for good reason – they’re durable, efficient, and come in a mind-boggling range of beautiful colors.
However, not all KitchenAid mixer sizes are created equal – some are large countertop colossi, while others are petite appliances. If you’re in the market for a KitchenAid stand mixer, one of the most important factors you will want to consider is the machine’s dimensions. After all, if you are short on countertop space, it’s important to buy a mixer that will actually fit in your kitchen!

Whirlpool doesn’t exactly make it easy to find the sizes of their machines, so I have recently done some digging into the KitchenAid mixer dimensions in order to discover the shapes and sizes of their most popular models.
I hope this information helps make your search for the perfect stand mixer easier!
Hey Angel, what about weight? On this page, I’m going to be talking specifically about KitchenAid stand mixer dimensions. If you want to know about the weight of KitchenAid mixers, I have covered that in a separate blog post!
DISCLAIMER: I have tried my best to get the most accurate KitchenAid mixer sizes for you, but it has not been easy. There is a lot of contradicting dimensions out there with KitchenAid customer service agents providing different dimensions for the same product. Confusing, right? If I have made a mistake on any of the models, please let me know in the comments box below!
KitchenAid Mixer Dimensions
Below you will find the length, depth, and height of every KitchenAid stand mixer currently available in the USA. I’ll list these machines in order of size, starting with the largest and ending with the smallest KitchenAid mixers.
Commercial
Height: 16.5″ (41.9 cm)
Depth: 14.6″ (37 cm)
Width: 13.3″ (33.7 cm)
Bowl Size: 8 Quarts
The KitchenAid Commercial is currently the biggest KitchenAid stand mixer available in terms of dimensions, bowl capacity, and torque output. As the name suggests, this mixer was designed for professional bakers and commercial kitchens, although plenty of home bakers use this mixer too. The reason for this is that the powerful motor and the all-metal gear system are perfect for those who need to mix large quantities of dough or batter, or for those with a lot of counter space to fill.
Pro-Line 7 Quarts
Height: 16.5″ (41.9cm)
Depth: 14″ (35cm)
Width: 11.5″ (29.2cm)
Bowl Size: 7 Quarts
After the Commerical, the Pro-Line 7 is the next largest KitchenAid mixer you can get your hands on. Both machines actually share very similar dimensions, although the larger bowl makes the Commercial almost 2″ wider and comes with a large base to compensate for bigger loads of batter and dough. This helps keep the machine stable whilst in use and stops it from dancing around your countertop when working stiffer ingredients.
When it comes to technical specs, the Pro-Line shares many features with its larger counterpart, including a powerful 1.3BHP motor, all-metal gear system, and bowl-lift design. The biggest difference between these two, aside from the bowl capacity, is that the Commerical attachments are NSF certified, meaning that they have been rigorously tested to comply with commercial food safety regulations.
Professional 6500 Design
Height: 16.5″ (41.9 cm)
Depth: 14.3″ (36.3 cm)

Width: 11.5″ (29.2 cm)
Bowl Size: 6 Quarts
The Professional 6500 Design is one of my favorite KitchenAid machines. It’s powerful, comes in a gorgeous range of colors, and is one of the few bowl-lift mixers to come standard with a beautiful glass bowl.
Despite the smaller capacity bowl, the glass bowl actually makes the machine significantly heavier, which is why it has a slightly larger base, helping keep the mixer more stable.
There’s a lot more to this machine than just a fancy glass bowl though. When it comes down to technical specs, the 6500 has plenty of great things going for it. For starters, it has a beefy 1 BHP motor, which is the second largest in the KitchenAid arsenal. It also comes standard with a Flex Edge beater, one of the few machines to do so.
If you are looking for a good deal on the 6500, I suggest popping over to the KitchenAid website, as this seems to be one of the best prices I have seen for this model.
Professional 600
Height: 16.5″ (41.9 cm)
Depth: 14.6″ (37 cm)
Width: 11.3″ (28.7 cm)
Bowl Size: 6 Quarts
If you want still want a bowl-lift mixer, but don’t need the superior power of the mixers I have just mentioned, then the Professional 600 might just be the machine for you.
The dimensions of this stand mixer are very similar to other lower-end bowl-lift models. The machine has a 575-watt AC motor, which might not be as powerful as the mixers I have just mentioned, although that’s more than enough to take on any home-baking task you can throw at it.
Professional 5
Height: 16.5″ (41.9 cm)
Depth: 14.6″ (37 cm)
Width: 11.3″ (28.7 cm)
Bowl Size: 5 Quarts
You might have noticed by now that every KitchenAid bowl-lift model shares the same height dimension and the Professional 5 is no exception. Where the KitchenAid mixer dimensions differ is the width and depth, which is largely depending on the bowl capacity and gross weight of each individual machine.
In terms of technical specs, the Professional 5 comes with a slightly smaller engine, a 525-Watt AC motor, making it the smallest bowl-lift mixer currently available. It is also one of the only bowl-lift mixers not to have the soft start features, meaning you will need to take a little bit of extra care when it comes to using the machine’s higher speed settings.
Classic
Height: 13.9″ (35.3 cm)
Depth: 14.1″ (35.8 cm)
Width: 8.7″ (22 cm)

Bowl Size: 4.5 Quarts
Now that we have looked at all the bowl-lift mixers, let’s move on to the iconic tilt-head mixers. First up is the Classic. The first thing you will notice is this tilt-head mixer stands almost 3″ smaller than its bowl-lift counterpart, which makes a big difference if you have low cupboards over your countertop. It’s almost 3″ narrower too, so takes up considerably less surface space.
The reason for this is that the tilt-head mixer is considerably less powerful than the bowl-lift models so, they don’t require the big base to help keep them stable. If you are looking for a KitchenAid stand mixer that won’t break the bank, then this is the most budget-friendly KitchenAid money can buy.
Artisan
Height: 13.9″ (35.3 cm)
Depth: 14.1″ (35.8 cm)
Width: 8.7″ (22 cm)
Bowl size: 5 Quarts
The most iconic mixer of all, the Artisan. If you compare the Kitchenaid Artisan mixer dimensions to the Classic mixer, you will notice they will take up the exact same amount of counter space. In fact, in terms of size, the only way these machines differ is down to bowl capacity, with the Artisan offering an additional 0.5-quart capacity.
Of course, where these machines really differ is by motor power, gears, and color variety. The Artisan offers an extra 50-Watts of power and uses a direct drive transmission, which offers significantly more torque for mixing thick dough and batters. Unlike the Classic the Artisan also has an all-metal gear system, which offers better durability and decreases the likelihood of having to replace the worm gear on a frequent basis.
Deluxe
Height: 13.9″ (35.3 cm)
Depth: 11.25″ (28.5 cm)
Width: 8.7″ (22 cm)

Bowl Size: 4.5 Quarts
Although the Deluxe shares many of the features of the Artisan and Classic mixers, it is one of the smallest KitchenAid stand mixer sixes and actually requires less countertop space than its tilt-head counterparts. It shares the same height, width, and bowl capacity, although the Deluxe differs in depth.
In terms of performance, I see the Deluxe as a blend of the Classic, Artisan, and Artisan Mini. It has a 300-Watt DC motor which is quieter and capable of producing more torque than the Classic and Artisan, although
Artisan Mini
Height: 12.3″ (31.2 cm)
Width: 7.8″ (19.8 cm)
Depth: 12.3″ (31.2 cm)
Bowl size: 3.5 Quarts
Last, but certainly not least, is the smallest and lightest mixer KitchenAid currently offers. If you are short on space in your kitchen, then this might just be the perfect mixer for you. The mini is 20% smaller than its big brother, the Artisan 5 Series, but thanks to its DC Motor it produces the exact same amount of torque. Thanks to its smaller stature it’s lighter too, shedding just over 25% of the weight of the larger artisan model.
Because of its size, surprisingly, the Artisan Mini has the smallest capacity bowl of any KitchenAid.
