“Hey Andy, what counts as a workout for 75 HARD?”

Most of the time, this comes from people who are looking to do the bare minimum in order to say “I did 75 HARD!”
They want me to give them the easy option to validate their lack of effort.
These are normally the people who need 75 HARD the most.
If you’re really wondering whether what you’re doing is considered a “workout” or not … ask yourself these questions…
Was it hard?
Did you sweat?
Did it push you to your physical limits?
If you can answer yes to these questions … then I’d say it counts as a workout. If you can’t … you’re cutting corners, guaranteed.
The truth is, if you actually have to question whether your “workout” is a real workout or not … It’s probably not.
Another question I get is…
“I have to do 2 workouts a day?”
Yes. It’s called 75 HARD. Not 75 Easy.
I know everybody is at different levels of fitness, and that’s okay.
What might be a workout to one person could be very easy to someone else.
That’s not the point…
The point is, it should be difficult for YOU.
But with that being said, I thought I would offer some examples of workouts you can do on 75 HARD if you genuinely aren’t sure what to do or where to start.
A quick note before I get into this: Always consult a health or fitness professional before starting any new training program to make sure it’s safe for you. If you are uncertain on what workout to do, or how to do it, ask for help.
75 days, 5 tasks, 0 substitutions, and 0 compromise.
Here are your tasks:
If you complete each and every one of those tasks without compromise for 75 days straight, you complete the 75 HARD program. If you fail on any of the tasks during the program, you must restart from Day 1.

That means if you forget to read on Day 74 … you have to start over on Day 1.
No, this isn’t a health or fitness program.
Are there physical benefits to completing the program? Of course.
Is the purpose of the program to lose weight, gain weight, or improve your physical health?
No.
The entire purpose of the program is to develop the mental toughness you need to unlock your true potential in life.
Part of developing mental toughness and control over your life is gaining control of your body and mind … so while people who complete 75 HARD usually have incredible physical transformations…
…those physical transformations are nothing compared to the mental transformation that comes as a result of completing the program.
Other than being the absolute best thing you can do to develop your mental toughness…
75 HARD can also help you develop…
You will literally turn yourself into a winner by practicing extreme discipline.

Be honest with yourself. The truth is, you know what should count as a workout and what should not in your heart.

Here are some of the workouts you can do for 75 HARD…
It should be time dedicated to training your body physically.
It should not be anything else.
Your intent should be to get a workout in … not to label other physical tasks as “workouts.”

There is a huge difference.
So let’s take a look at what DOES NOT count as a workout for 75 HARD…
If you cut down trees for a living … that’s physical labor.
If you were to work an 8 hour shift … that should at least count for one of your workouts, right?
Wrong.
This is a classic example of looking for a way to make the program easier.
I understand that the program is going to be easier for some people to fit in their schedules than others … and you may not consider that to be “fair.”
But guess what? Life isn’t fair either.
You may as well prepare yourself for reality.
Plenty of people with labor-intensive jobs and long days have completed the program, and they do their workouts on top of their other physically-demanding duties.
So, with that being said, here are some other examples of “workouts” I would NOT consider to be in line with the program…
You may laugh at some of those and think, “Does he really need to say that’s not a workout?” But the truth is, people have asked the question, so I just want to be crystal clear.
Again, you know in your heart what’s a workout and what’s not.
The longer you lie to yourself, the longer you’ll keep yourself from reaping the true benefits of the program.
Remember that.
