Sometimes even when the console is switched on, it may not display anything, or the screen is extremely dark (see image on the right).
Cause: This can occur if the console is not being supplied with adequate power. The power cable might be loose.
Solution: Check the power supply and the cable connection. Make sure that the power supply is plugged securely into the power outlet. Next, ensure that the cable tip is fully inserted into the console and that the connection is tight.
If the console still displays blank, lightly wiggle the chord that connects it to the console. Leave the console plugged in for a few hours to charge the battery if the unit has a rechargeable battery. Otherwise, contact the manufacturer.
At times, the screen of the console might not show any data. Instead, it might show dashes.
Cause: This is likely due to the sensor array not transmitting data to the console. Either the sensor array has run out of power, or an obstruction prevents the signal from reaching the console. It can also occur if the console itself is unable to receive the data or if the data storage capacity on the console has been exceeded.
Solution: Check the sensor unit thoroughly. Has it run out of battery life, or is there something obstructing the solar panels (if it has any)? If there are any metal objects anywhere between the sensor array and the console, remove them.
Also, make sure there are no dirt obstructions, such as mounds or hills. If there are, you’ll need to move the sensor array to a different location. Try experimenting with the position of the sensor array by moving it around. You may need to move it closer.
If the issue isn’t with the sensor array, you should check if the console has exceeded the storage.
Console operation becomes sluggish, and the screen might not be clear.
Cause: This is almost always because the temperature around the console is too low. The components are unable to function properly due to extreme cold. This is common if you keep your console outdoors.
Solution: A separate temperature sensor can be installed near your console to check the temperatures regularly. Make sure it’s a wireless thermometer so you can monitor it from indoors. If the temperature keeps dropping below operational level, you may just need to install the console indoors.
Sometimes the console display can get locked up and won’t work even when the keys are pressed.
Cause: This is usually due to a power surge, which causes the software to malfunction and freeze.
Solution: The console needs to be reset. The batteries and the power supply need to be removed, and then the power must be restored to make the console work normally again. To avoid this problem, always use a surge protector when powering your console.
This problem occurs mainly with weather stations capable of connecting to the internet or a computer network. As a result, the console might display odd values or might miss some values.
Cause: This issue may be encountered if the console gets synchronized with another weather station nearby.
Solution: The transmission and reception I.D.s must be changed to prevent further unnecessary synchronization.

Solution: For wireless units, check the reception. If the unit is wired, then trying replacing the cable. If those steps do not work, the issue is most likely with the anemometer, and you should contact the manufacturer.
The console might display a heat index reading that is too low or too high.
Cause: This may occur due to a calibration issue or problems with the temperature or humidity sensors.
Solution: Your temperature reading is also probably inaccurate—the steps above for troubleshooting the temperature sensor. Also, make sure that the humidity sensor is from any humidifiers or dehumidifiers. Recalibrate both sensors.
Sometimes the wind chill reading on the console display might be too high or too low.
Cause: The issue is with either the temperature sensor or the anemometer.
Solution: Your temperature reading may also be inaccurate—the steps above for troubleshooting the temperature sensor. Next, examine the anemometer. Is it fully intact? Check the wind speed data. If the wind speed data is also inaccurate, then you may want to contact the manufacturer to get a replacement part.
AcuRite Iris Reset
The following reset steps can be performed to correct issues of the sensor not connecting to the display. Symptoms of the sensor not connecting to the display could include:

Hard Reset:
Suppose your AcuRite Iris display unit or My AcuRite® account is reporting inaccurate rainfall readings. In that case, the rain gauge on the AcuRite Iris sensor can be calibrated to improve accuracy by following the directions below.
NOTE: The AcuRite Iris sensor comes pre-calibrated. The steps below are not required for a new sensor.
To calibrate the rain gauge on the AcuRite Iris sensor:

There should be nearly an equal number of water drops (typically about 25 water drops) between bucket tips. If not, then adjust the calibration screws on the bottom of the AcuRite Iris sensor until an equal number of water drops are tipping the buckets.
Then, restart the calibration procedure. If you don’t hear the buckets tipping or see water dripping alternately out of each drain, there may be an issue with the rain gauge or its adjustment.
If you have accidentally removed the calibration screws or adjusted them unevenly, the following procedure approximately resets the screws to the Factory Default.
The indoor/outdoor temperature and humidity readings and the Barometric Pressure can be calibrated on display to improve accuracy. Calibration improves accuracy when 5-in-1 sensor placement or environmental factors impact your data accuracy.
Calibration Instructions for Model #01544M/#06100M:
Press AND HOLD the “▲, ” and gear buttons simultaneously for 5- 10 seconds. Note: all display data is hidden except for the value being calibrated (calibrate) will appear next to the value being calibrated.
Press the “▲”or “▼”buttons to calibrate the data value higher or lower from the actual reading.
Press the gear button to confirm the calibration adjustment.
Note: The icon remains illuminated next to calibrated values.

Pressing only the “▲”button, the display enters the historical rain data. From here, you can review the today, 48 hours, seven days, Month, Days Since Last Rain recorded, All-time, and Year totals.
Pressing only the “▼”button, you can scroll through the special weather features, Dew Point, Wind Chill, or Heat Index.
Pressing and holding the “▲”and “▼”buttons for 10 seconds, you can turn the display’s Wi-Fi feature on or off.
If your AcuRite Iris Display unit or My AcuRite® account shows inaccurate outdoor temperature or outdoor humidity readings from your AcuRite Iris Weather Station, please review the troubleshooting suggestions below.

A -40°/158° outdoor temperature reading or a 1%/99% outdoor humidity reading is an error code reported from the outdoor sensor and is caused by corrosion. Please follow the steps below to correct.
Open your AcuRite Iris outdoor sensor by removing the (4) four screws from the bottom. The screws toward the center of the sensor are for Rain Gauge calibration only. Do not adjust these screws.
After your sensor has been opened, remove any insects, cobwebs, or debris. An old toothbrush can help to clean out the hard-to-reach places.
Use a damp cloth to clean off the rain gauge tipping buckets. Note: The damp cloth should only be used to clean the tipping buckets. Do not use to clean any other internal components.
Once separated, open the black cover in the bottom half and locate the black/red wires connected to a skinny green or blackboard- the temperature and humidity board.
Remove this board from the slot and check for any damage or corrosion. Corrosion can cause a -40°/158° outdoor temperature reading and 1%/99% outdoor humidity reading.
If no damage or corrosion is found, reassemble the sensor and perform the hard reset linked below:
AcuRite Iris Reset
If you are using a High Definition display unit such as model #06058M or #06088M, please use the following reset linked below:
If the outdoor data remains at a -40°/158° for the outdoor temperature reading or 1%/99% for the outdoor humidity, a replacement Temperature and Humidity Board Model 11197 is suggested. Confirm your sensor’s compatibility by reviewing The Compatibility Article.
Hard Reset for Sensor Model 00592TXR/06002M

When sensor placement or an environmental factor may impact a sensor’s readings, setting a reading calibration can improve its accuracy.
You can set the readings of a sensor to a positive or negative degree of calibration. When a reading calibration is adjusted, the reading is offset by the specified amount—for example, setting the temperature calibration to ‘-10’ results in its readings being displayed as 10 degrees less than what the sensor recorded.
NOTE: How to set the reading calibration is determined by the type of Connection Device the sensor is linked to:
AcuRite Access® – set in the profile of the sensor.
P.C. Connect Display – reading calibrations are required to be set directly in the P.C. Connect software. Then, the calibrated readings are sent to My AcuRite®.
Direct to Wi-Fi Display – set in the profile of the sensor.
When sharing with Weather Underground:
AcuRite Access® – readings sent to Weather Underground do not have calibrations applied – due to sensor readings are sent directly from the device and not My AcuRite®. Calibrated readings are only displayed in My AcuRite®.
P.C. Connect Display – when reading calibrations are set directly in the P.C. Connect software. The readings are sent with calibrations to Weather Underground and My AcuRite®.
Direct to Wi-Fi Display – readings sent to Weather Underground do not have calibrations applied – due to sensor readings are sent directly from the device and not My AcuRite®. Calibrated readings are only displayed in My AcuRite®.
Flashing of the outdoor temperature is an indication of wireless interference.
Follow these steps to resolve the issue;
If a section on your multi-sensor display is;
the unit may be experiencing wireless interference. And you should perform a hard reset to gain a strong connection between the units.
Note: If you are pairing more than one temperature sensor with the display, the A-B-C switch positions must differ between each sensor. Try a new location for the display, the sensor, or both if the signal connection fails after the units are separated.
Here are some reasons why your sensors are not working;
The most straightforward approach to figuring out why the unit won’t read outdoor temperatures is to consider swapping out the batteries in the sensor for new batteries. The sensor has trouble relaying info to the unit as battery power fades since the data has to “travel” through doors and windows.
The weather also affects the batteries. Extreme cold or below zero temps over a duration has a draining effect on batteries. Use two A.A. lithium batteries, which are resistant to extreme cold.
If you swap out the batteries in the sensor, don’t forget to reset the unit by pressing the “Channel” button on the rear face of the display unit. You need to hold it down for at least three seconds to reset the sensors.
You’ll need to press the “TX” button for the display unit to search for and find the sensor’s signal. Then press the “Mode” button three times; press it once, and it gives you the humidity and temp reading, twice reads only the humidity, and three displays the temperature only.
The placement of both the sensor and the display unit plays a large part inaccurate outdoor readings. The display unit needs to be placed ideally near a window to allow for more accessible reception.
Concrete or metal paneling tends to disrupt the flow of the signal, so you want to place the unit and the sensor so that the signal path encounters the least resistance.
Place the sensor up high on an outside wall, away from any electrical interference from satellite receivers and the like. Then, try a few different locations until you find the right spot that picks up the signal.
If fresh batteries don’t do the trick, the sensor may have become damaged. In addition, while the sensors are manufactured to be resistant to high heat and precipitation, realize they aren’t weatherproof. That rainwater may have seeped into the unit and corroded some internal components.
If you suspect this may be the case, you’ll need to purchase a replacement unit from the manufacturer and follow the instructions to configure the new sensor to the wall display.
Do the following to reconnect the sensor;
• Relocate the display unit and the outdoor sensor. The units must be within 330 ft (100 m) of each other.
• Make sure both units are placed at least 3 feet (.9 m) away from electronics that may interfere with the wireless communication, such as T.V.s, microwaves, computers, etc.
• Use standard alkaline batteries (or lithium batteries in the sensor when the temperature is below -4ºF/-20ºC). Do not use heavy-duty or rechargeable batteries.
NOTE: The display unit and sensor may take up to 20 minutes to synchronize after replacing batteries.

The AcuRite Atlas weather station is designed to update its firmware over Wi-Fi automatically.
If your display unit has the Direct to Wi-Fi capability to stream its data to both My AcuRite® and Weather Underground, the following procedure can be used to set up this connection.
These steps are designed for use with AcuRite Iris™ display model #06100M (Bundle #01544M) and AcuRite Atlas display model #06099M (Bundle #01001M). Please follow the steps carefully, as the order is crucial to the success of the Wi-Fi setup.
Before you begin:
From a computer, open the network tab and click on the AcuRite Wi-Fi Display Model Number. Of course, you can also use a smartphone or tablet, but the Wi-Fi connection setup works best from a laptop or desktop computer.
NOTE: If you receive an error stating that “This site can’t be reached,” please make sure that you are still connected to the AcuRite network and not your home Wi-Fi network.
To access the internal splash page to make any changes to the network credentials, press and release the gear button on the front of the AcuRite Iris™ display or go to Connections in the Main Menu of the AcuRite Atlas display and select Wi-Fi Setup.
This will reactivate the Wi-Fi feature for an additional 30 minutes and allow the display to appear on the network to reconnect.
You can view the current status of an AcuRite sensor, including its battery, wireless signal strength, and the date and time of the last reading that was sent to My AcuRite®. Viewing the status of the sensor is helpful when you are looking into an issue.
Status Color
The status color indicator next to the sensor’s name is a quick way to determine its current status.
Green – everything is operating as expected.
Yellow – a condition that may need your attention soon and should be looked into.
Red – a condition that does need your immediate attention.
Offline indicates the reading from the sensor has not been received for more than two (2) hours, and a Loss of Signal alert has been activated.
From your Dashboard, in either the app or on MyAcuRite.com, select the status bar indicator located to the left of the sensor name. The status window is displayed.
Status definitions
Device Name – The name of the sensor.
Device Type – the type of sensor.
Signal Strength – the radiofrequency strength between the sensor and its linked AcuRite Access®, PC Connect Display, or Wi-Fi Display.
No Signal – a sensor reading has not been received for more than 60 seconds.
The cause of this alert is commonly due to the sensor not having battery power, or its readings cannot be sent to My AcuRite®.
For use with The AcuRite Access® or Wi-Fi Display – verify the sensor is within wireless range of the device and the device has a network (Internet) connection.
For use with a P.C. Connect Display – verify the connection between the Indoor Display and your computer is detected, power is applied to the Indoor Display, the P.C. Connect software is open, and your computer has an Internet connection.
Poor or Weak – there is an increased risk of losing communication between the sensor and its Connection Device. It’s recommended to verify the sensor’s placement and verify that the Connection Device is at least 3ft from other electronics, including the router or computer.
Strong or Excellent – communication between the sensor and its Connection Device is operating as expected, and no interference is detected.
Battery Strength – the last reported battery level of the sensor.
Good – battery life remaining is greater than 25 percent.
Low – less than 25 percent battery life left. It’s a good idea to replace the batteries soon. During this status, the status indicator color is yellow.
Not available – the battery level is not available. The sensor may have no battery power or is not in the wireless range of its Connection Device. During this status, the status indicator color is red.
Last Update – the date and time its previous reading and status was sent to My AcuRite®.
Status – a summary of any conditions that resulted in its current position.

The sensor’s aspirating fan helps internal airflow ensures accurate ambient temperature readings while the sun is shining on the sensor. If the outdoor temperature readings are reporting too high, especially on hot or sunny days, verify the internal aspirating fan is running by opening the AcuRite Iris sensor and visually inspecting the fan.
Most obstructions can be cleared with a gentle puff of air if the fan is blocked by debris. However, when the fan is spinning, you will hear a humming noise.
The following troubleshooting steps can be used to hear the aspirating fan making a clicking sound or if the fan is loud when you are at least 10ft away from the sensor.

Make sure to compare data using a sensor positioned at the same mounting height. For example, pro weather stations are typically mounted at 33-feet or higher.
Check the sensor’s location and ensure it’s mounted a minimum of 5-feet in the air with no obstructions around it. The National Weather Service recommends mounting the sensor 33 feet above the ground with no obstructions within 100 feet for the most accurate wind speeds.
Ensure wind cups are spinning freely. If they hesitate or stop, try lubricating with graphite powder or spray lubricant.
1. Remove the screw located below the sensor’s wind cups. Keep the screw for step 4.
2. Spray a small amount of lubricant into the hole. (WD-40 or graphite powder)
3. Tip the AcuRite Iris Sensor upside down (so wind cups are on the bottom), then right side up several times.
4. Reinsert the screw (removed during step 1) into the hole.
If the AcuRite Iris sensor is not reporting any wind speed, perform a hard reset.
