Making cleaning slime is as simple as playing with it. Here are the steps in coming up with a car cleaning slime recipe. Be sure to wear plastic gloves before starting with the process.

Step 1: Mix the ingredients

In a bowl, pour a 4oz-bottle of Elmer’s glue, a half cup of water, and five drops of food coloring. Mix them well together. It will partially form a cleaning goo. Set aside.

Step 2: Add Borax

In a separate container, pour a ¼ cup of Borax. Add a cup of water. Stir well until no powder is seen and everything’s dissolved.

Step 3: Add the two mixtures

Mix the two mixtures by pouring the borax water mix into the cleaning goo. Make sure to combine them thoroughly.

Step 4: Work into dough

Knead the mixture and form a dough or ball-like piece until it becomes dry. If you think it is still quite watery, add a little borax if needed.

Stop until you feel that the mixture becomes gooey. A sticky cleaning slime is a very good one to use in removing car dust and dirt.

Step 5: Use the slime to clean car

With the work of art done, you can now start cleaning your car using your homemade cleaning slime. You can stick it onto the dirty vent and wait for some seconds before pulling it out.

Then, repeat the same process.

3 Steps to Make Car Cleaning Slime Without Borax

Using slime for cleaning is not only limited to using Borax. Borax can have issues with its chemical composition that can irritate the skin.

Cleaning slime for car can be safe to do with other household chemicals. To come up with a DIY cleaning slime, using alternatives can be a good choice.

You can have baking soda mixed with a small contact lens cleaner solution, squeeze and do the same steps.

You can also make slime with Pine Sol as your main ingredient instead of baking soda. Here’s how you are going to do it:

Step 1: Mix the ingredients

In a bowl, pour an 8oz-bottle of transparent Elmer’s glue, and add a teaspoon of Pine Sol. Mix them well together.

Step 2: Add more Pine Sol and keep mixing

When you notice the mixture is going to be a bit sticky, add more Pine Sol until you reach the stickiest mixture.

Step 3: Flatten it

With that sticky mixture, form a flattened circle and get ready to clean your car with your Pine Sol slime.

3 Steps to Make Car Cleaning Slime Without Glue

You can also make slime without glue by using toothpaste and table salt intead. These are the easy steps:

Step 1: Mix the toothpaste and salt

In a small bowl, squeeze 40g of toothpaste. Add a teaspoon of table salt. Keep adding until you get the desired stickiness.

Step 2: Wait for the mixture to be ready

Secure the bowl with anything that would keep air from getting inside it. Cover it and leave for 48 hours.

Step 3: Clean the car parts with slime

After 48 hours, open the cover of the bowl and get amazed with your car cleaning putty. You can now use your DIY dust cleaning gel to clean your car.

Now that you know how to make a car cleaning slime, maybe you worry about how to detail it afterward. Detailing slime may not be a good idea after it is used since you cannot clean it.

But take note that if it is used slightly or does not accumulate much dust, you can preserve your gunk getter slime in a resealable bag or an air-tight container to reuse it when you need it.

Conclusion

Since you already know the quick and easy recipe on how to make car cleaning slime, this could be the right time for you to try this lifehack and see for yourself.

You do not need to buy an expensive cleaner or vacuum small interior spaces in your car just to have it cleaned. A simple slime can help you get rid of the dirt and dust particles inside it.

You do not only save money, but you also save the time to line up in groceries and buy cleaning stuff for your car.
