Disney Dreamlight Valley: How to Make Crudites

Crudites are a simple yet satisfying dish that can be crafted in Disney Dreamlight Valley. They’re also one of the meals required for Mickey Mouse’s friendship quest, so you’ll need to know how to rustle them up.

Crudites Recipe in Disney Dreamlight Valley

One of the earliest recipes you’ll pick up on your adventures across Disney Dreamlight Valley is Crudites. They’re a snack-like dish that you’ll need to craft as part of the Missing Minnie friendship quest from Mickey Mouse. As one of the first main characters you’ll befriend in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you’ll soon realize that his requests are key to recovering some of the lost members of the Valley.

One such missing Valley villager is none other than Mickey’s beloved sweetheart Minnie Mouse. She’s trapped between the realms of the Valley and some other mysterious place, and it’s up to you to help bring her back. To do this, you’ll need to whip up a special picnic at Mickey’s instruction.

Picnic foods are snack-based by nature, so the menu to help Minnie return includes two Fish Sandwiches and five portions of Crudites. Both of these recipes are fairly straightforward. Fish Sandwiches are a two-ingredient, two-star meal and Crudites is an even simpler one-ingredient, one-star meal.

Ingredients for Making Crudites

Crudites make an excellent starter as well as a great picnic snack. As in real life, they’re incredibly simple to create and only require one ingredient. All you’ll need to whip up a plate of Crudites is a vegetable of some kind. The recipe for Crudites requires any one item of produce from the vegetable category in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

However, there are four specific vegetables that will always result in a dish of Crudites when cooked on the stove. Carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers, and mushrooms will all have this effect. You can’t use vegetables like potatoes, leeks, or lettuce. If you do, you’ll end up with dishes of puree, soup, and salad.

This means you can use a single carrot, cucumber, or bell pepper to craft a plate of these tasty veggie appetizers. Interestingly, Crudites can also be created using mushrooms, which are actually classified under herbs and spices on the main Collection page in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Choosing Which Ingredient to Use

Carrots are probably your easiest option when crafting Crudites early on in the game. They’re easily picked from across the Peaceful Meadow and the Plaza when you first get started in Dreamlight Valley. Otherwise, you’ll need to plant, tend to, and harvest cucumbers or bell peppers.

Cucumber seeds and ready-to-eat cucumbers are available from the Frosted Heights biome, which you probably won’t unlock until later in the game. That’s down to the fact it costs 10,000 Dreamlight to access, which may take some time to gather.

Bell peppers, or bell pepper seeds, can be purchased from Goofy’s stall in the Forest of Valor biome. This also needs to be unlocked for 4,000 Dreamlight, so it may not be accessible when you’re first starting out.

Mushrooms are harvested from the ground in the Glade of Trust biome. This is also gated off by Giant Night Thorns and must be unlocked for 5,000 Dreamlight.

How to Make Crudites

Once you’ve chosen a vegetable, simply add one of them to the cooking pot at any cooking stove and select Start Cooking. The finished dish of Crudites will be added to your inventory upon completion.

To meet the requirement for Mickey Mouse’s Missing Minnie friendship quest, repeat this process five times so that you’ve got enough plates of Crudites ready for the picnic. You’ll also need to craft the Fish Sandwiches as part of the quest, which can be made with one piece of any fish and one portion of wheat.

You’ll now have learned this recipe permanently, should you want to make it again in the future. To do so, you can simply select it from the Recipes panel.

Crudites will reward you with 141 points of energy and can be sold for 52 Star Coins each. That’s not a bad return on carrots or other vegetables you can eventually harvest for free around the Valley.
