This mac and cheese recipe is a quick and easy recipe for breakfast. It’s perfect for a hot summer day, or for any occasion from a work get together, to a tea party in the garden. This recipe is very adaptable in favor and there are all kinds of ways you can customize it: add fresh veggies, change the herbs or dairy, and add in different spices or flavorings.

This mac and cheese recipe has been a family favorite for as long as I can remember. My mom made it every time we had a batch of macaroni and cheese. Of course, as a teenager I didn’t remember to take the butter out of the box, so I’ve always preferred to make it without it.

How To Make Gladys Knight’s Mac And Cheese

This recipe is a childhood favorite of mine. I used to go to the Gladys Knight and Ron Winans Chicken and Waffles restaurant, order macaroni and cheese as my side dish, and eat every last bite. This recipe will let you make your own version at home with ease!

Ingredients

  • Macaroni, 3 Cups
  • 2 Large eggs
  • Heavy Cream, 1/2 Cup
  • Milk, 1-1/2 Cups
  • Shredded Colby & Monterey Jack Cheese, 1 Cup
  • Shredded Velveeta Cheese, 8 Oz
  • Smoked and Shredded Cheddar Cheese, One Cup
  • Salt (to Taste)
  • Pepper (to Taste)

Instructions

Step 1

Set the oven to 350 degrees F. Therefore, the pan can be put into the oven as soon as we’re done. Boil water in the pot of your choice. Stir in the macaroni and let it cook.

Step 2

Once the macaroni is done cooking, turn off the stove and drain the macaroni as you normally would.

Step 3

In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, milk, and cheeses. You must remember to leave out the smoked cheddar cheese because it will be added later.

Step 4

Once you have mixed all the ingredients in the bowl, add the salt and pepper.

Step 5

Add the macaroni and cheese sauce to the pan after spraying it with cooking oil. Put the smoked cheddar cheese on top of the macaroni after everything has been combined.

Step 6

By the time you finish cooking the macaroni and cheese sauce, the oven should reach 375 degrees.

Step 7

If the macaroni and cheese doesn’t set after 15 minutes, remove it from the oven and let it cool on the counter, away from anything else you’re preparing. Enjoy!
