If you have been watching the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops go viral on TikTok you are not alone.

I definitely fell for the hype of the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops – thinking they would be the most amazing thing for my skin.
I was really skeptical of the Glow Recipe brand because it seemed to focus on the packaging alone.
I found them to be extremely gimmicky because the scents were so potent and good skin care doesn’t need to be frilly. I’m someone that believes less is more.
You don’t need SO MANY additional products in your skincare routine to get glowing skin.
Read my list of Skincare Frequently Asked Questions here to get an understanding of the most commonly asked skincare questions. In this guide you’ll find the answers to everyday skin concerns.
Getting into the review, the question is: Are the reviews of Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops as good as they seem?
The answer is NO. Do not invest in this product. At $45 Canadian it is not worth the money.
If you have oily skin this product is going to accentuate your pores and make them seem larger.
The dew drops even made me really shiny and greasy and I have normal to combination skin.
I felt so slick the entire day it actually accentuated any bumps I had which is why I think this product will only look really good if you have flawless skin.
The Glow Recipe Watermelon Dew Drops DO smell amazing – the watermelon smell is intoxicating. However, this product made my face really itchy and irritated for the first TWO hours upon wear.
I believe that the same glow can be achieved using any highlighter on the high points of your face or luminizer as a primer or makeup base.

Don’t fall for the promise that these drops are going to give you model skin. They are similar to the Glossier Dew Serum but that too will probably make your skin look like a ice skating rink.
Niacinamide is supposed to help your skin glow over time with the influx of Vitamin B3 that is enhanced using this ingredient. That being said, it isn’t the only thing that can help you get a natural glow.
There’s a fine line between glass skin and skin that looks like it has Saran Wrap covered on it.
That’s exactly what these dew drops do – they look like you’ve taken your textured skin and wrapped it up.
In the next section I’ll let you know what other alternatives there are to the dew drops – even if there is a more expensive option.
There are cheaper alternatives or dupes to the Niacinamide Watermelon Dew Drops so keep reading to find out what they are.
If you’re looking for an alternative to the Glow Recipe Watermelon Niacinamide Dew drops there are so many dupes and alternatives.
The Brightening Youth Glow Primer from Charlotte Tilbury is a bit more expensive but it’s worth every penny.
Read my post on Charlotte Tilbury Dupes to find out what the best dupe is for the Brightening Youth Glow Primer.
This product has a very similar glowing effect with light reflecting crystals that shine off the high points of your face but it doesn’t melt into your pores.
It also has anti-aging properties in it that help reduce the look of fine lines. It also has a Vitamin B3 extract as well as Niacinamide which is exactly the ingredient that helps with brightness.
Plus, you know that it’s Charlotte Tilbury so the quality of the product is very good even though it’s pricy.
I love this product because it doesn’t enhance the look of acne or any scaring but rather it smooths and blurs any skin imperfections.
Another Innisfree product that contains Niacinamide that is comparable to the Glow Recipe Watermelon Dew Drops is this Dewy Glow Jelly Cream.
Glamzilla recommends using this product after the Glow Recipe Watermelon Dew Drops because it will enhance the look of the glass skin appearance.

The Dewy Glow Jelly Cream contains Jeju Cherry Blossom leaf extract combined with Niacinamide so that you get extra glow skin throughout the day.
If you have dry skin that appears dull this will really brighten your skin up.
Keep in mind it is a jelly which is a very texture so you may not be used to the way that this product applies.
However, even though this one is also viral on TikTok, many of the Sephora reviews say that it isn’t moisturizing enough and dried out skin. This is what happens when you have the jelly formula – sometimes this type of texture will NOT work on your skin.
Basically anything that contains Niacinamide and Zinc is going to be a dupe for the Glow Recipe Niacinamide Dew Drops.
This Revolution Serum is highly rated and the reviews suggest that it helps reduce the appearance of pores and redness in the face.
The Niacinamide Serum is very similar to The Ordinary Niacinamide and Zinc serum so if you are looking for a dupe for that this one will work just as well.
Also, this serum is a creamy consistency but isn’t greasy and doesn’t feel sticky when it dries down.
I will say that even though this is a dupe you may not get as much glow as some of the other recommendations but it will certainly help reduce the look of your pores and brighten your skin.
If you have oily skin this is the serum for you – I wouldn’t suggest this for dry skin.
I hope this post is eye opening that not everything that goes viral on TikTok will be proper for your skin type.
These drops are pure GIMMICK and I urge you not to consider them in your skincare routine.
These didn’t work for me but they could work for you. Keep in mind there are a lot of alternatives out there for brightening primers and skin care.
Let me know if you agree!
