How to Make Gordon Ramsay Chicken Stir Fry

Pushing the frying pan away from you and sharply pulling it back is the secret when sauteing stir-fry vegetables. It will take a little practice and patience; however, it’s a skill worth achieving.

  1. If you are using dried rice noodles, you must soak them in warm water until they are softened or according to the instructions on the package. (about 10 minutes, depending on which brand you use.)
  2. You can Make it Flat using a rolling pin, then diagonally cutting it into strips. Meantime, it would help if you butterflied the chicken fillet by slicing it horizontally, leaving it attached down one side and then opening it out.
  3. Season the chicken with salt and pepper and add to the Heated pan over high heat with oil. Now stir-fry for about 3 minutes until golden brown is all over but not entirely cooked.
  4. Add the garlic and stir-fry for more than 30 seconds; add the broccoli, and continue to stir-fry for a few minutes until all is tender; add your soy sauce to season the stir-fry. After the broccoli is cooked and tender, remove the recipe contents from the frying pan and set them aside. Now wipe out your fry pan, add a dash of oil and heat through.
  5. Drain your soaked noodles. Now add eggs to the hot frypan, season and stir over the heat, letting the bottom of the egg cook. Now add the rice noodles and toss and mix well, breaking up the egg simultaneously. Place the chicken and broccoli mixture back into the frying pan and heat through, stir-frying over medium heat.
  6. Immediately Serve the noodles and wedges of lime to squeeze on top of the stir fry.

Do you cook rice noodles before stir-frying?

Yes, cooking rice noodles before adding them to a stir-fry is important. Rice noodles are delicate and cook quickly, so it is best to soak them in warm water for 8-10 minutes until they become pliable but still slightly firm. Then, drain the water and add the noodles to boiling water for about 1-2 minutes until they are fully cooked.

Once cooked, drain the water and rinse the noodles under cold water to stop the cooking process and prevent them from becoming mushy. Finally, add the cooked noodles to your stir-fry just before serving, stirring gently to coat them with the sauce and other ingredients.

What noodles are best for stir fry?

Several types of noodles work well for stir-frying, but some of the best options include the following:

  1. Rice noodles: These thin, translucent noodles are made from rice flour and are commonly used in Asian cuisine. They have a delicate texture that absorbs the flavors of the stir-fry sauce well and cooks quickly.
  2. Udon noodles: Thick, chewy udon noodles are popular in Japanese stir-fries. They have a hearty texture and can hold up well to the heat and sauces in stir-fries.
  3. Soba noodles: Made from buckwheat flour, soba noodles have a nutty flavor and a slightly chewy texture. They are a good choice for stir-fries with a more subtle flavor profile.
  4. Egg noodles: These are made from wheat flour and eggs and have a slightly chewy texture. They work well in stir-fries with a more savory flavor profile.

When choosing noodles for stir-frying, it’s important to consider their texture, flavor, and how well they hold up to heat and sauces. By selecting the right type of noodle for your stir-fry, you can create a delicious and satisfying meal that’s sure to impress.
