You can’t deny that having curly hair sets you apart from the crowd! In fact, curly hair often fetches compliments for its so rare to have natural curls that make the hair look voluminous and bouncy. But, you also can’t deny that this unique hair type comes with its own challenges. In spite of the compliments, you know there are days when you simply hate your hair.

To begin with, naturally curly hair does require more maintenance. To add to the effort, it is prone to frizz and dryness. Such factors leads to the curls losing shape, the hair looking drab and split-ends. But, you can fix these issues with some natural ingredients easily found at home!

Here are 3 absolutely natural hair masks for curly hair:

1. Banana and yogurt

Both bananas and yogurt are deeply hydrating. It is more important for curly hair, than any other hair type, to stay moisturised because dryness can make the hair look shabby. On the other hand, well-hydrated curly hair looks voluminous.

To prepare this hair mask, mash one banana and mix it with one cup of yoghurt. Apply this banana and yogurt hair mask to your hair, starting from the roots and covering the length of the hair. Let it stay for 15 to 20 minutes before washing it off using warm water and a mild shampoo.

2. Honey and egg

Egg isn’t just moisturising in nature but also contains proteins which can benefit your tresses by boosting strength and ensuring you steer clear of common hair problems such as hair fall. On the other hand, honey is a natural humectant which means it will lock in moisturise and give your hair some much-needed radiance.

To prepare this hair mask, you’ll need to first separate the egg white from the yolk. You can do this by creating a small chip in the egg shell and pouring the egg white into a bowl. Next, add one teaspoon of honey to it. Whisk together both the ingredients till they get mixed properly. Apply this hair mask to your tresses. Wait for it to dry. It won’t take more than 20 to 25 minutes. Next, wash it using warm water and a mild shampoo.

3. Rice water and avocado

It is believed that inositol, which is a component of rice water, is able to penetrate the hair and repair any damage. In addition, avocado isn’t just extremely hydrating but also contains a healthy dose of vitamin B-complex which helps with hair growth. This hair mask will help your curls regain health and become more defined.

To prepare this hair mask, mash half an avocado. Soak one cup rice in two cups of water. Sieve this mixture to eliminate the rice grains from the water. Add the avocado mash to rice water. Apply it on your scalp and tresses. Let it sit on your hair for 20 to 25 minutes before washing it out with warm water and a mild shampoo.

Apply any of these hair masks to keep your curls healthy and beautiful. Masking once a week or once every fortnight can go a long way in keeping your hair bouncy!
