1. Egg Yolk Shampoo For Oily Hair

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 tablespoons of water
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon of lime juice or aloe vera
  • 5 to 10 drops of peppermint and lavender essential oils

Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites. Then, mix the yolks with water and the other ingredients in a bowl.

The egg yolks will remove the excess oils in your scalp, while the peppermint oil provides shine and extra cleansing. You can apply this shampoo when your hair is either wet or dry, just make sure to apply it on your scalp first.

2. Shikakai Cleansing Shampoo for Brittle Hair

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon of marshmallow roots
  • 1 teaspoon of fenugreek seeds
  • 15 grams of shikakai
  • 2 ½ cups of water
  • 10 grams of soap nuts/ reethas (optional, it’s a stronger cleanser)

To make the shampoo, combine all the ingredients in a stainless-steel pan. Then, bring them to a boil for around ten to fifteen minutes.

3. Green Tea and Castile Homemade Shampoo For Hair Growth

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil
  • ½ cup of green tea
  • ¼ cup of castile soap
  • 1 teaspoon of lime juice or aloe vera
  • 5 to 10 drops of peppermint and lavender essential oils

To make the shampoo, first, brew some green tea leaves and set aside half a cup of tea for the shampoo. Then, combine the green tea with the other ingredients in a medium-sized jar.

Green tea helps get rid of dandruff and other free radicals that causes hair loss, while honey is a great moisturizer for dry hair. Apply the shampoo on your wet hair, and massage your scalp thoroughly.

4. Chickpea Flour Protein Hair Cleanser For Dry Hair

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons of chickpea flour
  • 2 tablespoons of fenugreek powder
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • ½ cup of water
  • 1 ½ tablespoons of orange peel powder

Mix all ingredients in a bowl, and gradually add water until the paste is already smooth. You can also add essential oils of your choice for fragrance.

Chickpea flour helps nourish dry and brittle hair, while fenugreek helps detangle hair. Apply the paste on wet hair, and massage your scalp for two to five minutes.

5. Carrot And Maple Homemade Shampoo For Hair Growth

Ingredients:

  • 15 drops of carrot seeds essential oil
  • 15 drops of castor oil
  • 3 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • ½ cup of liquid castile soap

Mix all of the ingredients in a medium-sized jar, until the texture is smooth. Pour the shampoo over wet hair and massage it into the scalp.

  • 1/3 cup of grapefruit juice

  • Optional: 3 teaspoons of grapeseed oil
