Looking for some clever outdoor dog bath station ideas to make bathing your dog a lot easier?

We’ve got you covered!

Bathing a dog can be quite a challenge, as many pet owners can confirm. You often end up with a mess because you’re trying to keep a soapy dog in the tub.

Not to mention that the first thing all dogs do when they escape the bath is to shake their bodies and get everything and everyone around them wet.

Fortunately, during the summer you don’t have to bathe Lucky inside and mop up the messes. Instead, you can move the bathing outside and save your furniture and carpets.

The question is how to do it, right?

I’m going to share some interesting outdoor dog bath station ideas that I stumbled upon that you can incorporate into your backyard.

#1 Recycle an old clawfoot bathtub

Do you have one of those old porcelain baths lying around? Then you can use it as an outdoor bathing station for dogs. This is probably one of the most durable options. Those old claw-foot bathing tubs were built to last!

You just need a shower spray set, a place to install it, and somebody (preferably a plumber) to connect the bath to your drain system. It’s that simple.

If you don’t believe me, take a look at this DIY dog bath station, and you’ll fall in love with it.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a porcelain bath.

You can get one of those big plastic tubs as long as it’s large enough for your dog.

Of course, you’ll have to clean the tub after each use, but the good news is that you can spray it down with a hose.

You can get an idea of how to do this- plus other great dog wash station ideas- in the video below.

#2 The kiddie pool bath

I’m sure that most of you probably have a kiddie pool stashed somewhere in the house.

Why don’t use it as an outdoor dog bath station if the kids are too old for it?

The only other thing you need is a garden hose to connect to your outdoor faucet, and you’re ready to go. Or you can fill it the old-fashioned way – with buckets of water.

Another variation of this idea is to place the plastic pool in the ground to create a small swimming spot for your pets.

For something a little more permanent, this video has a great tutorial. It’s not in English, but you can figure it out by watching it.

#3 The outdoor shower for pets

When you think about it, you don’t need anything fancy to bathe your pet, right? Just a place you don’t mind getting wet and a shower set or a hose.

Take a look at this clever outdoor washing station, which is perfect for pets and children.

Of course, it requires some DIY experience, but it’s nothing fancy, and it will require minimal cleaning.

In fact, it’s practically self-cleaning when you use a gentle dog shampoo. Just use the leftover suds to wash away dirt, mud, and debris.

#4 The PVC bath station

During my Internet research into outdoor dog bath station ideas, I stumbled upon this video, and I found the idea fascinating.

This dog-washing shower is one of the best options if you need to have both arms free since you can easily keep your dog in one place and lather him up.

It’s also easy to come across spare PVC parts (or buy them at Loews or something fairly cheap), and you probably have all the necessary tools in your toolbox.

Why don’t you give it a go?

What’s also appealing about this idea is that the builder provides detailed instructions, so it won’t be a problem for you to follow them or make modifications to the design.

In addition to this, you can take the construction apart when you don’t need it because the parts are not glued together.

# 5 The luxury bathing station for pets

I found this useful tutorial about building a dog bath station after quite an extensive search. It looks professional and suitable for dogs of almost all sizes.

The bad news is that it requires a little more experience in DIY project or plumbing, but it would be invaluable if you have several dogs in the house. Or if you are planning on opening a dog grooming salon.

The finished dog washing station is meant for indoors, but you can place it outdoors if you have a garage or a shed you’re not currently using.

#6 The fenced dog washing station

This beach-style dog bathing station has a stylish design that would make your neighbors green with envy.

No more muddy paw prints in the house or grime and dirt on your carpets.

What’s more, it won’t be so difficult to make as long as you have some old fences lying around, a bucket of paint, and a shower set. A couple of afternoons and you’ll have a new addition in your backyard.

You can also take advantages of this washing station during the hot summer days and have a shower after a long day in the garden.

This video tutorial shows you another way to make a super classy outdoor shower!

#7 Go shopping

Do not fret if you’re not feeling feel comfortable with plumbing, installing shower heads, or building a bathing station from scratch.

You can choose the easy way and buy one from the shop.

Fortunately, there are cheap options that don’t cost a fortune. What’s more, they are easy to assemble and don’t require any specific skills.

For example, take a look at The Booster Bath.

What I like about it is the simple design and the ability to restrain the dog in the tub.

While for some that might seem too restricting, I’d prefer to know that my pet can’t jump out of the bathtub and hurt himself, especially if he doesn’t like bathing.

The only downside is that this option really works best only for small to medium dogs. You’re just not going to fit a giant-breed pup in the basin.

Bathing your dog outside has its benefits, and your dog might even enjoy it more than normal baths.

However, remember that even the best outdoor dog bath station ideas are not suitable for winter when temperatures dip below zero.

So, choose something simple, but functional.

What do you think about these outdoor dog bath station ideas? How have you designed your wash station? Share your suggestions in the comments.
