You need ONE 16-ounce bag (454g) of fresh Brussels sprouts.

Then follow these easy steps, and you will be able to enjoy fresh Brussels sprouts with a variety of recipes.

How To Clean Brussels Sprouts? (2-Easy Steps)

This is a simple method of cleaning your Brussels sprouts, and with just 2 easy steps:

STEP #1: CUT OFF ENDS:

  • Remove them from the package. Then take each one, cut off the ends, and discard them.
  • Next, discard some of the outer leaves that have fallen off, especially if they are bruised, brown, or black.

STEP #2: GIVE THEM A GOOD RINSE:

  • Submerge them in a bowl of clean cold water. Allow them to soak for a few minutes, then rinse off any remaining soil particles.
  • Then allow them to drain in a colander.

Now your Brussels Sprouts are ready for any recipe!

*Quick Tips for Storing and Freezing…

1. TO STORE: It is best to spin out excess water after rinsing them. You can do this with a salad spinner. Then transfer these little Brussels sprouts to a ziplocked plastic bag and keep them chilled in the refrigerator until you are ready to cook them. They will stay fresh, for up to 2 days. Then use them in your favorite recipes.

2. TO FREEZE: After they have been properly prepped, and rinsed. Dry them with a paper towel, and place them in a sealed container or a plastic bag and freeze them. They are good to freeze for up to 1 month.

RECIPE For: How to Make Sautéed Brussels Sprouts?

For this easy recipe: we sliced them in halves and used only a few ingredients to flavor them with some onion, garlic, seasonings, and honey.

FIRST: Saute the onions and garlic with some olive oil. Saute them until they are softened and translucent.

SECOND: Toss in the sprouts. Add the seasonings. Continue to cook until they are golden brown, stirring occasionally.

FINAL STEP: When Brussels sprouts are done, turn off the heat. Taste and adjust the seasonings. Drizzle over them while they are still hot, with the honey. Stir to combine. Then serve.
