A few weeks ago, I invested in a Blink outdoor camera to improve the security around my house.
As soon as I was done with unboxing and setting up your new blink camera I realized I had no idea how to mount it.

Hence, I spent hours on the internet to find the best possible way to mount the camera.
Finally, I got a hang of it and now I have my blink camera perfectly mounted where I wanted it to be.
The process is very easy all the equipment to mount the camera is in the box. It hardly takes 10 minutes.
To mount Blink outdoor camera, attach the cone-shaped mount riser to the round key, then attach the back of the camera by pushing the key into the slot made for the key. Now fix the mount on the wall using wood screws given in the box
In this article, I have explained different methods and the best practices for mounting a Blink outdoor camera.
The process of setting up your outdoor Blink camera is not tedious and the best place to mount entirely depends on your preference.
It works best in the following locations:
Blink cameras are easy to mount and have a good size ratio so you can be creative with these.
However, there are some technical points to consider when choosing a place to mount it.
The best place will be where the camera can get the maximum view angle. I had it installed at the side of my main entrance but I could only see the heads of people staring at my door. Turns out I had the height and angle of the camera wrong.
It’s better to check the view angle from inside, by asking someone to go out and wander a bit.
The best place for mounting these blink cameras also depends on the purpose you bought it from amazon.
If you bought it to look over children playing in the yard, its height should be a little lower to get a proper view.
If it is in the front yard for security purposes, it should allow more view so 8-10 ft will be a good mounting height.
You can also mount blink cameras at hidden places after making sure they give you the right view.
For example, putting it up in a tree house or somewhere sneaky. A little tip is to turn off the blue blinking light to make the camera more subtle.
Try to keep the Blink camera within good wifi range otherwise, there will be a hindrance in its transmission, and it might even get disconnected.

To mount these cameras a little far in the garden, you can use wifi extenders to solve this problem.
Keep it away from places that have a lot going around because blink cameras have motion sensors, so in places where there is a lot of motion, it will keep alerting you.
You can, however, turn off the armed function that records a five-second video when it detects motion.
Don’t mount it in a place where the camera can perceive a lot of glare from headlights or even from direct sunlight. It will give you an unclear or not good picture quality.
Try not to mount it behind too many plants or shrubs because again, you need a good view angle from the camera.
Avoid places that are easily accessible to people, they can damage or even steal the camera.
For ceilings or for horizontal locations instead of using a cone-shaped mount riser, use the right-angle mount bracket that can be easily screwed onto the ceiling.
Attach the Blink camera to the bracket by pressing its center inside the circle on a bracket. Wait till you hear the sound of a click to know that it is fixed.
The vertical position will give more view height-wise, use the mount riser to mount the camera for a vertically aligned position.
This is done for a clearer picture of people that are captured by the camera.
The riser in the Blink camera also gives an option to rotate it and adjust the vertical or horizontal angle for more specific viewing.
Either you don’t have the drill to put screws in or you live in a space where you cannot drill too many holes in a wall.
Whatever the situation may be, there are some ways to mount a blink camera without screws.
Corner camera mounts can be easily placed at corners and it is a good screw-free option.
These can be attached with screws as well but a double-sided mounting tape will be perfect to attach it in the corner.
Double-sided mounting tape goes well with the Blink camera because it’s lightweight.
Put the tape on both sides of the corners and attach the corner bracket to it. Note that you should only mount only the camera not the mount riser.
Used without screws, a gutter mount is a good option to place the camera on roof gutters.
They get easily fixed and have small screws on them to tighten the mount. Blink camera with thread mount can be fixed on it.

For Stucco, you’re gonna need anchors. Drill holes big enough to support anchors. After drilling insert the anchors inside using a hammer gently.
Next, screw in the circular disk and mount the riser together on the wall so that screws can hold both mounts together and get fixed on the stucco.
The circular disk is given to add a little space between the wall and the camera.
Siding Hooks available on amazon, are easy to use for mounting camera to siding.
Push the hook side of the siding hook inside the gap of the siding and then screw in the machine screws after mounting the mount bracket on the siding hook. The camera goes inside the bracket by pushing it in.
Here are a few things you should keep in mind while mounting a Blink camera:
Removing is as simple as pulling the bottom part of the Blink camera out if you want to change batteries.
If you want to remove the mount itself, you will unscrew it first and then remove the mount by pulling it away.
If you only want to remove the Blink camera, simply press it a little inside and it will come out, or pull it out yourself as the first step does not work in all models.
Either way, it won’t be hard.
If you are still unable to mount your Blink camera, it is best to contact customer support. The team of experts will be able to help you in a better way.
I am hoping that by reading this article you will easily be able to mount your blink camera.
There can be some technical points to note before mounting a camera but overall it will not be too difficult.
However, before using the drill and other tools, make sure you are familiar with the tool and you are wearing the necessary protective gear.
Do not try to DIY the mounting process if you have not used the tools before. In this case, contact a professional to help you.
The empty sphere in the bracket goes inside the center back of the camera where there is a little opening spot. Press the bracket inside it until you hear a snap.
Generally, 8-10 ft height is appropriate to mount a blink outdoor camera.
Yes, mounts will be provided in the box along with screws. However separate mounting kits are also available on amazon.
Two head screws with size #6 1-1/4″ are given with a blink outdoor camera.
