Scrub the Superglue with hot water and dish soap. Use the coarse side of a sponge to scrub the glue. Keep scrubbing until the glue stops coming off. Rinse and dry the area.
If the Superglue is dry or there is a very large quantity, you may need to soften it first. Moisten a paper towel or washcloth with hot water. Drape the wet cloth over the Superglue on the countertop. Wait an hour or two and then try scrubbing the spot again. You can also try scraping the softened glue using your putty knife.
Purchase nail polish that contains acetone. Be sure to read the label since some products do not contain the chemical.
Test the product on your countertop to make sure it won’t damage or discolor the surface. Apply a small amount to a non-visible area and wipe it away after three to five minutes. If the countertop looks ok, continue to the next step. Do not use the product on your countertop if it causes discoloration or damage.
Apply some of the nail polish remover to a cotton ball or paper towel and rub it against the Superglue. It should begin to dissolve immediately. If there is an especially large or thick amount of glue, you may need to place the cotton ball or paper towel against it and let it soak for a few minutes.
Once it has dissolved some, scrape off as much Superglue as possible, using a putty knife. Place the flat edge of the tool against the countertop and apply light pressure, pushing the blade towards the Superglue. Keep scraping, being careful not to scratch the counter.
After you remove the Superglue, clean the entire countertop using plain dish soap and water.
For especially stubborn glue products, you may need to purchase a commercial glue remover from a hardware store. Professional products are very powerful and are often made specifically for granite, marble, concrete, brick and ceramic as long as the countertop is sealed. That said, you should still test any product first.

Apply a small amount of the commercial glue removing product to a non-visible area and wipe it away after three to five minutes. If the countertop looks unblemished, continue to the next step. Do not use the commercial product on your countertop if it causes discoloration or damage.
Apply the product to the glue according to the manufacturer’s instructions. After you’ve left the commercial product on the glue for the suggested amount of time, wipe it off, using a sponge or paper towel. You may still need to scrape away any residue using your putty knife.
After you remove the glue, wash the countertop using plain dish soap and water.
It might also be helpful to try scraping at the glue with the putty knife again.
