I’ve had this idea in my head FORever and it’s finally time to share this fun DIY gift idea with you all for the holiday season.

Moscow Mules seem to be all the rage lately and I’m not over here complaining. I love the refreshing lime and ginger combo. And I mean, could the copper mug be any cuter?!

What Is a Moscow Mule?

A classic Moscow Mule consists of vodka, fresh lime juice and ginger beer. You can add a little simple syrup if you like things sweeter but we’re going simple and classic.

So I thought it would be fun to put together a little gift basket with all the Moscow Mule essentials and we’re calling it the Moscow Mule Kit.

Gather Your Supplies

Here’s what you need to make this Moscow Mule Kit:

  • Two copper mugs
  • Limes
  • Cute little bottles of vodka
  • Ginger beer
  • Basket to hold everything
  • Crinkle cut paper
  • Printable Moscow Mule recipe (included at the bottom of this post for free download)

It’s All in the Details

Because mules are so popular these days, you can find the copper mugs just about anywhere. You can find a more rounded option and a straighter option more like a classic coffee mug shape. Grab the style the recipient would love most.

My favorite place for cute baskets at a good price is either HomeGoods or Michael’s. I grabbed the one picture for $5 at HomeGoods and it’s now displaying some cute Christmas bulbs on my entryway table. Double win.

I didn’t want to include those teeny tiny bottles of vodka that are about the amount of a shot in this basket because I knew they would look really small and sad next to the large can and mugs. I was able to find some 200mL bottles of vodka at the grocery store and they were the perfect size to include.

If you can only find the tiny ones, no worries. Just grab a few extra to fill in the space in your basket.

Contrary to the name, ginger beer isn’t alcohol at all. It’s a mixer that is somewhat similar to ginger ale but way more gingery. You can find it with the mixers in the liquor aisle.

Assemble Your Moscow Mule Kit

Start with filling your basket with crinkle cut paper. You can get creative and use holiday colors or the recipients favorite color. Or keep it classic and matchy matchy with your ingredients.

Place your mugs on opposite sides of your basket and fill in with the ginger beer and vodka. Fill in any empty spaces with limes.

Download and Print the Recipe Card

Now all you have to do is download the cute recipe card and print to your hearts desire.

I chose to print mine on card stock to ensure it was sturdy and would hold up to possible spills when mixing mules. It also feels like an old-school recipe card this way too.

Hands up if you still have a recipe box with old family favorites.

This is what the printable recipe card looks like and instructions for download are included right below.

Grab your basket and gift away. I’m pretty sure you will quickly become the favorite friend, family member or neighbor. Happy Moscow Mule-ing friends!
