Homemade Playdough Recipe with Cream of Tartar Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose Flour
  • ¾ cup of Salt
  • 4 teaspoons of Cream of Tartar
  • 2 cups Luke Warm Water
  • 2 tablespoon Oil (I used Vegetable Oil)
  • 3-4 drops of Food Coloring (Gel preferred)

  • Bowl
  • Stove
  • Stove-Safe Pot
  • Heat-safe Spoon
  • Measuring Spoons and Cups

How to make Homemade Playdough recipe with Cream of Tartar

In a large pot add the flour, salt, and cream of tartar. Use a spoon or whisk and mix well.

Add in the oil and 3/4 of the water and mix well to combine.

Add the food coloring and the rest of the water to a small bowl and mix to combine.

Pour the wet ingredients (water and food coloring) into the dry ingredients flour mixture and mix well with a spoon.

Place the pot over medium low heat on the stove and heat while mixing for 4-5 minutes until the dough begins to form.

Continue mixing until all of the dough forms a playdough consistency ball of dough.

Remove from the heat and allow to cool completely before playing with it.
