Do I need a hood for my outdoor kitchen?

We get this question quite often, the answer is: it depends, there are many factors that are taken into consideration like how enclosed is the space, type of roof, access to natural ventilation and layout. As a general rule a hood is highly recommended when the grill is located under a roof simply because they generate a significant amount of smoke that can accumulate to dangerous levels if not ventilated properly and they’re a fire hazard.
