For all my beauties with dark inner thighs, armpits, bikini area and spots, etc, this DIY turmeric scrub for hyperpigmentation is a must try!

I just love how this DIY turmeric scrub for hyperpigmentation works instantly to bring a glow to your skin and reduce darkness by naturally lightening pigmentation.

The best part about this scrub is that it is an ‘all over scrub’ that can literally be used anywhere, even sensitive areas like the bikini area.

You can also use it on your face, if you are suffering from dark circles, acne, dark marks, dark lips, mouth area being darker than the rest of the face, and more!

It is also a great pre-shave scrub because it fights ingrown hairs like a pro.

Let’s check out what ingredients we shall be using for this DIY turmeric scrub for hyperpigmentation and how they work:

Ingredients Used & their Benefits

🧡 White Sugar

White sugar is the base ingredient of this scrub.

It should be ground into a sandy texture because the large particles may hurt your skin.

Just blend it for a couple of seconds in your coffee grinder or a small blender with milling blades. This will leave you with a finer texture that will gently exfoliate your skin.

White sugar helps exfoliate dead cells, gunk, grime and clogged up pores and hair follicles.

When ground to finer particles, white sugar is the perfect medium for making any scrub targeted at sensitive areas such as the face, underarms and bikini area.

🧡 Ground Turmeric

Turmeric is an amazing agent for lightening the skin, fighting acne, reducing blemishes and treating other skin concerns and imbalances.

It helps bring a beautiful glow to your skin.

Turmeric is also known to help lighten any kind of discoloration whether it is uneven skin tone, dark knuckles, acne scars, dark armpits, dark inner thighs, dark bikini area and more.

It contains curcumin that has antioxidant properties that keeps skin feeling and looking youthful and healthy.

🧡 Rosehip Oil

Rosehip oil, which is extracted from the Rosa Canina fruit and seed, is one of the best oils for hyperpigmentation.

It contains a high percentage of the essential fatty acids, omega 3 & 6, as well as significant quantities of carotenoids, which is a powerful antioxidant and previtamin A that not only gives it a deep orangish color, but also makes it a potent oil for beautifying skin deeply.

Rosehip oil is prized for brightening hyperpigmentation, balancing oily skin, moisturizing and softening the skin as well as adding a dewy glow.

🧡 Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil has a similar chemical structure to that of our skin’s own natural oils, also known as sebum. This makes it a safe oil to add to this DIY turmeric scrub for hyperpigmentation which you may be using on fragile places such as the bikini area or armpits.

It also has strong anti-inflammatory properties which combats redness, inflammation and damage to the skin due to a variety of factors including skin care, UV rays from the sun, acne marks and more.

By encouraging cell growth and cell turnover, regular application of jojoba oil helps reveal softer, brighter skin underneath the discolored skin surface.

🧡 Lemon Essential Oil

Lemon essential oil is one of the best essential oils for hyperpigmentation.

It contains limonene that is a natural skin lightening and brightening agent.

Using lemon essential oil helps reduce blemishes, dark spots, pigmentation and uneven skin tone.

Bonus: The citrusy scent of lemon essential oil makes this DIY turmeric scrub smell so heavenly!

🧡 Turmeric Essential Oil

Turmeric essential oil is a great addition to this DIY turmeric scrub!

I mean, if turmeric itself is so amazing for your skin, then imagine the most concentrated form of turmeric, which is turmeric essential oil! It sure has A LOT to offer for healthy skin and a bright and even complexion!

Turmeric essential oil not only diminishes the appearance of blemishes and brightens dull pigmented skin but also exfoliates dead cells to uncover new skin, which can enhance natural radiance and promote a supple, glowing and revitalized appearance.

This essential oil also has strong antibacterial and antiseptic properties that help fight off ingrown hairs and bumps in the armpits and bikini area, caused by shaving.
