Essential Guide to Cleaning with Wet & Forget Outdoor in Your Climate and Season

By Wet & Forget

From the Alaska Mountain Range to the southern tip of Florida, Wet & Forget Outdoor stain remover makes cleaning your exterior surfaces easy. Do you live where it’s always humid? Or, maybe you live in the southwestern U.S., where the air is dry? The instructions for cleaning with Wet & Forget Outdoor may vary slightly depending on the season and climate of where you live. See our regional and seasonal cleaning tips below.

Seasonal Outdoor Cleaning Tips

Spring

Apply Wet & Forget Outdoor as soon as the weather warms to remove unsightly stains and growth that have been hiding in winter. Spring rain showers work with the product to clean dirty outdoor surfaces for you – no rinsing or scrubbing required!

Outdoor areas to add to your spring cleaning checklist include:

  • Gutters
  • Windows
  • Fences
  • Siding
  • Driveways
  • Decks
  • Garden Structures
  • Roof
Summer

Summertime is the season to open the pool and enjoy the weather. Wet and Forget works with summer storms to clean away moss, mold, mildew, and algae stains on outdoor surfaces.

Plus, Wet & Forget Xtreme Reach™ Hose End cleans large outdoor areas like pool decks, patios, and porches with ease.

If you live in a region that experiences high summer temperatures, apply the product early in the morning to prevent rapid product evaporation. We also recommend applying the product on an overcast day to avoid this. If you notice the rapid evaporation occurring, retreat the area to keep the surface saturated with the product or choose a cooler day to apply the product.

Fall

Apply Wet & Forget Outdoor in fall to eliminate moss, algae, mold, mildew stains on outdoor surfaces. The product works with autumn’s cool rains to clean your home’s outdoor surfaces. Use Wet & Forget Outdoor in fall, and your outdoor surfaces will be clean by spring!

Winter

If you experience mild winters, you can still clean with Wet & Forget Outdoor.

To apply Wet & Forget Xtreme Reach™ Hose End, wait for a day when the temperature is above 55 degrees.

To apply Wet & Forget Concentrate or Wet & Forget Ready-to-Use in colder regions, wait for a day when outdoor temperatures are above freezing. Our products work over time with winter’s rain, sleet, and snow to clean exterior surfaces.

Identify the climate where you live and view the extra tips below on applying Wet & Forget Outdoor in your region.

In dry regions, apply Wet & Forget Outdoor according to package directions. One week later, rinse surfaces with the garden hose. If you’re not seeing rainfall in your region for a while, we recommend repeating the rinsing process periodically to imitate natural rainfall. The additional water will assist the product in lifting and removing green and black stains.

In hot regions, make sure the surface being treated isn’t too hot. You don’t want the product to evaporate as quickly as you apply it. It need time to sit on the surface. Early morning, or an overcast day is the perfect time to apply.

In humid and marine regions, green and black stains caused by moss, mold, mildew, and other growths may reappear more often. If you see new stains, reapply the product to your exterior surfaces.

In cold or subarctic regions wait to apply Wet & Forget Xtreme Reach™ Hose End, when temperature are above 55 degrees. Apply Wet & Forget Concentrate or Wet & Forget Ready-to-Use apply when temperatures are above freezing.

Wet & Forget Outdoor banishes both green and black stains from your home’s outdoor surfaces. Just spray it on and forget it! Wet & Forget does the cleaning for you – no scrubbing, rinsing, or power washing required.
