For this DIY dog deodorizer, you will need:

  • Spray bottle
  • 100% pure high-quality lavender essential oil
  • Pure witch hazel

Fill up ¾ of your spray bottle with water, and then fill the remaining ¼ of the bottle with witch hazel. Then add about 10 drops of lavender essential oil. Close the bottle, shake the mixture well, and then spray it on your dogs to make them smell better. Make sure to cover your furry friends’ eyes while spraying and avoid splashing the deodorant on his head.

Whenever you feel your dog is a bit nervous, needs a quick refreshment, or smells even after a bath, this spray will do the trick!

Baking soda homemade dog deodorant

In some cases, one powerful ingredient does the magic; baking soda. It is non-toxic, pet-friendly, and neutralizes bad smells without chemicals. You can also use this dog deodorizer as a dry shampoo to instantly refresh your canine companion.

To prepare this natural dog deodorizer, prepare the following ingredients and accessories:

  • Bowl
  • Sift
  • Baking soda
  • Lavender powder

Sift the baking soda and lavender powder into a bowl and then use a whisk to mix the ingredients. Gently apply this pet odor neutralizer to your dog’s coat. Allow the powder to sit on the coat and skin for a few minutes. Ensure the powder doesn’t get into your dog’s eyes.

Finally, use a brush or comb to remove a significant amount of the powder then run a baby wipe through his coat to remove the remains. This smelly dog home remedy comes in handy when you want to give your dog a fresh scent without bathing her/him.

If you don’t have time to launder their beds and toys, you can make up a vinegar deodorizer spray for dogs. Containing white distilled vinegar and water, it is chemical-free and can be safely used on any fabric and surface.

Spray on the areas that smell, including rugs, carpets, and furniture, to get a fresh smell in your house. The vinegar scent dissipates quickly neutralizing odors and leaving a clean scent behind. For extra fragrance, you can add a few drops of a dog-safe essential oil to the spray bottle.

Persistent bad smells might be a sign of disease, so if deodorizer spray or perfumes don’t help get rid of odors, let your doggie check with your vet.
