I use it for baked goods and my famous budinos (Italian Pudding) with stabilized whipped cream.

Swerve is basically a brand of powdered erythritol? While there are other sugar free brands using powdered erythritol blends in their sugar free sweetener, I love this brand.
According to the Swerve website, Swerve is made from ingredients found in select fruits and starchy root vegetables, and contains no artificial ingredients, preservatives or flavors. It’s zero-calorie, non-glycemic and safe for those living with diabetes, since it has no effect on blood glucose or insulin levels.
They use non GMO raw materials, which are fermented in brewery tanks, which naturally creates erythritol. Enzymes are added to the starchy root vegetables, which break down the starch and create oligosaccharides. Erythritol and olgiosaccharides and a little citrus flavor are the only ingredients in Swerve.
Swerve suggests using its product in recipes one to one. I don’t do that because I never have used the full amount of sugar in suggested American baked cooks. Over the decades desserts became sweeter and sweeter, much too sweet for me.
I have experimented in my keto recipe kitchen testing and use a lot less sweetener with much success, so this is up to your own tastebuds. I supplement Swerve with a few drops of liquid stevia glycerite, which balances the sweetness for my personal taste.
Apple Almond Tart using Swerve
My Favorite New Mini Chocolate Bundt Cakes use confectioner’s swerve for the glaze.
Swerve makes an amazing confectioner’s sugar which is very fine and works exactly like regular confectioner’s sugar, only you use less.
It’s possible to make a delicious sugar free chocolate frosting.
It’s also possible to make a fancy lemon cake using Swerve and still be low carb.
I served this coconut cake at Easter and it was huge hit with everyone.
These are just an example of a the many Swerve Sweetened Fall Desserts we have made.

They make granulated, confectioner’s and brown sugar. If you only have the granulated, I think it’s good idea to run it through your processor if your desserts are going to be refrigerated. This is my personal opinion, and why using the confectioner’s sugar (same erythritol), but processed finer can be used in all recipes.
I use the Swerve brown sugar replacement for specific recipes like these keto pecan tassies, which are just as good as my originals.
I also enjoy these keto friendly french cookies, Financiers using Swerve and browned butter.
In a word, yes but I refer you to Swerve’s Website for the answers here.
While stevia is also a safe sweetener, it is not Swerve. Stevia is an herb, but have a bitter aftertaste.
When you’re counting carbs you do not need to count the carbs in swerve sweetener because they pass through the body. When I am figuring out the carbs in my desserts I eliminate the carbs from Swerve. Read their F.A.Q. health and safety answers here.
Swerve also makes some boxed cake mixes. In this Keto Texas Sheet Cake, I used the chocolate cake mix.
So tell me, have you ditched sugar and have you tried Swerve Sweetener? You can buy on Amazon or at your local grocery store. Let me know what you think. If you bake any of my recipes, please hashtag me on Instagram #spinachtiger.
