Hell’s Kitchen alum Megan Gill has continued to work in restaurants, as she is currently working as a sous chef at Cowboys Club and as a brand ambassador.

Hell’s Kitchen has been renewed for two more seasons, so fans can expect season 21 and 22 of the popular Gordon Ramsay-fronted series.

The reality cooking competition format show was Ramsay’s first FOX Network series premiering in 2005. Since then, the show has launched the culinary careers of some of the best up-and-coming chefs in the industry.

Seeing as the show has been confirmed for two more seasons, let us take a look back at the last season that aired and what the contestants of the season are doing now. In particular, the runner-up, Megan Gill.

What was the last season of Hell’s Kitchen?

The last season of Hell’s Kitchen that aired was season 20, titled Young Guns. It was titled this because all 18 contestants that participated in the season were under the age of 24 years old.

Gordon Ramsay returned as the resident head judge, joined by Christina Wilson, who was sous chef for the red team, Jay Santos who was sous chef for the blue team, and Marino Monferrato was the maître d’.

The contestants of season 20 were competing for the position of head chef at Gordon Ramsay Steak at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel. In addition to the head chef position, the chef’s were also competing for a cash prize of $250 000.

Where is Megan from Hell’s Kitchen season 20 now?

Megan Gill was the runner-up of season 20 of Hell’s Kitchen. The decision followed after Gordon Ramsay read the comments for their finale menu.

However, despite just falling short of the cash prize and position of head chef at Gordon Ramsay Steak at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel, she did go on to pursue her culinary ambitions.

Right after the series aired, Gill went on to become a line cook at the Brook Hollow Golf Club in Dallas. The season aired in 2021, but it was shot in 2019, hence there are no COVID-19 restrictions present in the show.

Gill later moved on from the position as an Instagram post confirmed in May 2022 that she was working as a sous chef at the Cowboys Club in Texas.

Moreover, the sous chef revealed that she has been named one of the first official brand ambassadors of Chef Works and expressed her enthusiasm about the “Exciting things coming in the future.”

Megan is currently a chef at Hotel Marcel New Haven, she most recently shared delicious Valentine’s dishes on her Instagram page.

Who won Hell’s Kitchen season 20?

Trenton Garvey won Hell’s Kitchen season 20. Before appearing on the series and winning his season, Garvey was introduced as an executive chef from Union, Missouri.

He won the season following Gordon Ramsay reviewing the comments of his and Megan Gill’s final menus. Garvey was an executive chef at the time, working at The Blue Duck.

But that has changed since the confirmation of his win, and Garvey is reaping the rewards of his season 20 victory.

What is Trenton Garvey doing now?

After winning season 20 of Hell’s Kitchen, Garvey went on to take up his new position as the head chef at Gordon Ramsay Steak at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel. His recent posts show the head chef preparing the signature Gordon Ramsay dish of beef wellington.

Moreover, it does seem that Garvey also works as a private chef. Garvey seemingly has interests in pursuing television as he joined the CEG Talent agency.

When is the new season of Hell’s Kitchen airing?

The delay in the shooting of the already confirmed seasons 21 and 22 was due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which resulted in delays throughout the film and television industry in Hollywood and globally.

This means that season 21 will not air between May and September 2022 as season 20 did in 2021. However, fans will not need to wait a year for the new season, as it is projected that a new season of Hell’s Kitchen will return in the fall 2022.

Thus, the earliest that the new season of the show is projected to return is September 2022. However, FOX has yet to publicly confirm this.

Final thoughts

Throughout its 17-year run, Hell’s Kitchen has been responsible for upskilling and giving a number of young aspiring chefs the chance to realise their dreams and ambitions.

As such, in the same way the show is a reality-format cooking competition, it has similarly become somewhat of an institution. This is evident in the career trajectories of the runner-up and winner of season 20.

The winner, Trenton Garvey, has taken up his position as head chef at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant.

Megan Gill has continued to advance her position and career, as she is currently working as a sous chef at Cowboys Club in Texas and as a brand ambassador of Chef Works.
