Are you done with the crafting quests in Wizard City, Krokotopia, Marleybone AND Mooshu? Then it’s time to move on to Dragonspyre for your next crafting quest! Your next badge will be the Master Artisan badge. Just like for the previous crafting quests, you don’t have to be a specific level to get it. The only prerequisite is that you’ve finished the Mooshu crafting quest.

After you finish your Adept Crafter quest in Mooshu, Toshio will direct you to talk to Balthazar Dragonthorn in Atheneum, Dragonspyre.
Buy the recipe from Balthazar Dragonthorn by pressing “X” on your keyboard when you’re close to him. There will be the option “Recipe shop“. Search for the item called “Ring of Apotheosis” and click “Buy“. Press “J” on your keyboard. You should now be able to see the recipe.
Get the reagents mentioned in the recipe. To make both items, we need:
Where to get the reagents:
- Ghostfire can be bought from Zoltan Nightstone, who is conveniently located next to Balthazar Dragonthorn. You can also buy these in the Bazaar, but generally Reagent Vendors offer them at a lower price.
- Diamonds are a problem, because they’re rare reagents. They don’t spawn in the Spiral, but sometimes you might get one when you pick up Ore. Since you’re in the Atheneum already, it is probably interesting to know there are four spawning spots for Ore right there. The Bazaar very very rarely has Diamonds for sale, but you might get lucky. Your best shot would be to transmute Ore to Diamond. You can buy the transmutation recipe from Felicia Worthington in Regent’s Square, Marleybone. To get one Diamond, you need fifteen Ore. You’re basically crafting a new reagent from another reagent. Since we need 30 Diamonds for this recipe, you will need to collect 450 Ore to be able to do this. Shush, no complaining, everyone goes through this, everyone survives. Just go farming. Or waste +/- 25,000 gold in the Bazaar and buy all the Ore available. More info on farming below.
- Black Lotus can be found in several areas in Mooshu. The guide to Mooshu crafting has maps and possible farming routes. Check it out here. Vestrilund is another option, check the Vestrilund tab below for more information.
As said in the previous step, you might need to craft your Diamonds first from Ore. This might take a while, since you need to collect the Ore. Diamonds are crafted at the Card Crafting Station (buy it from the nearest Furniture shop, for example from Zhi Lan in the furniture shop in Jade Palace).

The Ring of Apotheosis needs to be crafted at the Equipment Crafting Station. If you need to buy the new Crafting Station, you can buy it from any of the Furniture Vendors in the Spiral.
Afterwards, talk to Balthazar. He will give you the quest to craft two robes and direct you to Mooshu to buy a recipe.
If possible, buy the recipe for the robe from Balthazar. Yes, I know it says he sends you to Mooshu but — at least for my Life wizard — Balthazar sells the recipe as well. These are the first recipes that require Treasure Cards to make an item. Yes, you can craft Treasure Cards! Only the ones of your own school though.
Get the reagents mentioned in the recipe.
Where to get the ingredients:
- Treasure Cards: I strongly recommend taking the easy way out and buying them in the Bazaar. The only school I could not find ample TCs for was Life. I ended up buying 6 Nature’s Wraths in the Bazaar and crafting the other 6. Yes, you can craft TCs. The school trees in Ravenwood sell recipes for Treasure Cards. However, you can only buy the recipe for Treasure Cards of your own school (e.g. only a Death wizard can craft Doom and Gloom).
- Crystal Vial, Onyx, Ruby, Amethyst and Jade can be bought from Reagent Vendors (for example Yuji Hamada in Jade Palace, Mooshu and Zoltan Nightstone in the Atheneum, Dragonspyre) You can also buy these in the Bazaar, but generally Reagent Vendors offer them at a lower price. Plus, they never run out!
- Stone Blocks are found in stoney areas. If you have membership, I suggest you ask a high leveled friend to go to Stone Town in Zafaria. That’s the best place for Stone Blocks I know of. Avalon is another option. Another popular place is the Atheneum, but the fact that it’s so popular means you will have to rival others to get your reagents. If you don’t have access to any of those places, Krokotopia is still a pretty good option for Stone Blocks! Try to Entrance Hall in Krokosphinx for example. I’ve also heard people recommend the Scotland Yard Roof in Marleybone.
- Black Pearl is a rare reagent, sometimes acquired when picking up regular Pearls or Black Lotus. Apart from spending a fortune at the Bazaar, you can get them by transmuting 15 Black Lotus. Buy the Transmute Black Pearl recipe from Avery Templeton in Celestia Base Camp.
- Frost Flower is found in icy places (for example around Kelvin, the Ice Tree). The best place to farm — to the best of my knowledge — is Mirkholm Keep in Grizzleheim. There’s a pretty little ice lake hidden behind the red teleporter (take a left turn after using it and don’t get caught by the Howling Banshees). You need the Cat Tail found in that lake as well, so keep farming until you have 72 Cat Tails. You will be thankful to yourself later.
- Ectoplasm (for Myth and Life wizards), Leather Straps (for Storm and Fire wizards), Bone (for Balance wizards), Bronze Gear (for Death wizards) and Spider Silk (for Ice wizards) are commonly found in the Bazaar. When I checked, about 500 of each of these reagents was available for 25-35 gold each. All these reagents can be transmuted as well. Strangely enough, they form a kind of circle: you can endlessly keep transmuting them into one another:
Go to your home and use the Equipment Crafting table. If you haven’t sold it, your crafting table should be in your home already, or in your backpack. If you have lost yours, you can buy a new one from the Furniture Vendors in the Spiral (closest one: Nessa Lightblade in the Furniture Shop in the Atheneum). Once you have your table, craft two robes.
Afterwards, talk to Balthazar. He will give you yet ANOTHER crafting quest.

To buy the recipe, you need to stop by in Mooshu. Look at Toshio‘s recipe shop and use the arrow to go to furniture items. Buy the recipe for Crimson Book Stand.
Get the reagents mentioned in the recipe. To make 2 Book Stands, we need:
Where to get the ingredients:
- Fire Elf: the easiest way would be to buy them: either in the Bazaar or in the Wizard City library in the Commons. They cost 250 gold per piece in the library.
- Shadow Oil and Glass Vial can be bought from Reagent Vendors (for example Yuji Hamada in Jade Palace, Mooshu and Zoltan Nightstone in the Atheneum, Dragonspyre). You can also buy these in the Bazaar, but generally Reagent Vendors offer them at a lower price. Plus, they never run out!
- Cat Tail is always found in or near water. Two places come to mind where you could farm them: Mirkholm Keep in Grizzleheim and Hyde Park. More info and pictures below.
- Nightshade is a rare reagent that can be transmuted from Deep Mushrooms. You can buy the transmute recipe from Wul’yahm in Krokotopia and Avery Templeton in Celestia. Deep mushrooms are found in damp stony places. I suggested the Ahnic Family tomb before for people still in Krokotopia. If you have access to higher worlds, I strongly suggest you go to Avalon, more specifically to The Wild. More info below. Once you have 360 Deep Mushrooms, go to your dorm, use the Card Crafting Station and transmute the mushrooms into Nightshade.
- Blood Moss is a rare reagents, sometimes acquired when picking up Red Mandrake. You can transmute it, and that seems like the easiest way to get the required amount. The transmute recipe is sold by Eudora Tangletree (Wizard City, Olde Town) or Avery Templeton (Celestia, Base Camp). For Red Mandrake farming, people generally suggest Wizard City, Cyclopse Lane (near the two bosses), but I personally prefer Silent Market in Khrysalis! This requires you to either have quested that far, or to have membership and a high level friend. More info and a map below. Once you have 300 Red Mandrake, go to your dorm, use the Card Crafting Station and transmute the mandrakes into Blood Moss.
Where to find Black Lotus? I wrote all about that in my Mooshu crafting guide. When you have 180 lotus flowers, you can transmute the 12 Black Pearls required for the recipe by going to your home, using the Card Crafting Station and choosing the right recipe.
Go to your home and use the Housing Crafting table. If you haven’t sold it, your crafting table should be in your home already, or in your backpack. If you have lost yours, you can buy a new one from the Furniture Vendors in the Spiral (for example: Nessa Lightblade in the Furniture Shop in the Atheneum). Once you have your table, craft two Crimson Book Stands.
Afterwards, talk to Balthazar. He will grant you the Master Artisan badge! He will immediately also give you a quest called To The Seas, which directs you to the Celestia crafting quest. Don’t worry, the Celestia crafting quest is a LOT easier than this one!
