Kitchen Faucet Prices by Material
Most kitchen faucet bodies are made primarily of plastic, brass or stainless steel, regardless of what finish they might boast on the outside. Here’s a look at what you get with each including the types of valves most have.
Note the importance of valve construction: Keep in mind the importance of the valves because they are the components that regulate water flow and are designed to keep the faucet from leaking both out of the end of the spout and out of the spout body and base.
It’s no surprise that plastic body faucets are the cheapest. They typically have rotary ball valves.
Brass body faucets start quite affordably and can be very expensive. You’ll find them with all three types of valves: rotary ball, standard cartridge and ceramic disk cartridge.

Kitchen Faucet Removal and Installation Prices
See our Faucet Removal and Installation Guide for complete instructions on these projects. You might be able to save money by doing the work yourself. Even if you hire a contractor for the work, the guide provides insight into what needs to be done so that you can discuss the work with the professional.
- Kitchen faucet removal: $75-$200
- Kitchen faucet installation prices: $125-$300
The exact cost will depend on several factors including how many accessories the faucet has and where it is located. Keep in mind that most plumbers also have a minimum charge for the service call. This ranges from $75 to $150.
The installation price range does not include the cost of running water line either to the sink cabinet or into the wall for a wall-mounted faucet.
Kitchen Faucet Repair Prices
Our guide for Faucet Repair provides step-by-step instructions for the most common faucet repairs. Here are the costs ranges for those repairs including the parts and labor required. The low end of the range is for DIY repairs, so it reflects the cost of the parts only.
- Rotary ball faucet valve replacement price: $8-$125
- Standard cartridge faucet valve replacement price: $12-$150
- Ceramic disk faucet valve replacement price: $50-$200
- O-ring replacement price: $3-$125
- Seat washer replacement price (two-handle faucets): $5-$125
As you can see, the repair bill can easily be more than the original cost of the faucet or the cost of a pretty good replacement. That’s why, in many cases, if you can’t repair the faucet yourself, the most cost-effective choice is to put your money towards a new faucet.
