Our beloved mother, Beverly Ann Reynolds Riggs, 84, of Richmond, TX passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 29, 2022. Beverly was born on December 6, 1938 in Shreveport, LA to the late H.H. “Country” Reynolds and Mary Marcella Smith Reynolds.
Beverly graduated from Beaumont High School in 1956 and attended Lamar University. In 1957, Beverly married the love of her life, Martin Buckley Riggs and began a future filled with love, joy, faith and family. While she worked in Judge Wright’s court in Beaumont, TX prior to moving to Houston in 1966 and had a successful career as an administrative assistant at Fluor Corporation in Sugar Land, TX, what she enjoyed the most was being a wife, mother, Grammy and friend. Beverly developed many close friendships in her 84 years…neighbors and friends that became family, the “Old Broads” and the Pecan Grove women golfers that filled her life with laughter and shenanigans to the countless people that entered her life at different times and were immediately captured by her joyful spirit and infectious laugh. Her genuine care and concern for others brightened and changed lives.

Our family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the caregivers that showed great compassion and gentleness while monitoring mom’s well-being and addressing her medical and personal needs during the last years of her life including the doctors and staff at Kelsey-Seybold – Fort Bend Center and St. Luke’s Health – Sugar Land Hospital, and especially her dear friend, Mary Ellen “Mary Elizabeth” Gay.
The outpouring of prayers and love for mom and our family has been an enormous comfort during this difficult time. Our hearts are heavy over the loss of this loving and devoted wife, mother, Grammy, aunt, and friend. However, our undying faith in the knowledge that mom is dancing with our daddy in their heavenly home free of her impaired physical health eases our minds and hearts as we know we will be reunited one day.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Catherine’s Montessori School located at 9821 Timberside Dr., Houston, TX 77025 where several of Beverly and Martin’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren attend school.
