- Starbucks has an extensive holiday-themed drink list, but if you’re in the know, the coffee retailer also dishes out a handful of secret, off-menu drinks for other occasions, like Halloween.
- This Halloween, you can order a series of spooky drinks inspired by Hocus Pocus.
Halloween was set to be one of the very best holidays of 2020 thanks to not only falling on a weekend (let alone on a Saturday) for the first time since 2015, but also because it’s the first Halloween to be graced with a full moon since 2001. Of course, then the pandemic occurred and life as we knew it came to a halt. While trick-or-treating is largely out of the question across the country, there are plenty of ways to encourage a little spooky fun that just so happens to taste wickedly good.
Enter Starbucks’ 2020 Halloween beverages. Over the past few years, the coffee retailer has debuted a series of on (and off) menu items to bring in the spooky vibes ahead of Halloween. While the chain stopped the tradition in 2019 to focus on core menu items, you can still snag Halloween-inspired drinks from the fan-favorite coffee shop—you just have to get creative.

Thanks to Totally The Bomb, Starbucks shoppers can enjoy not one, not two, but three spooky-good Frappuccinos just in time for Halloween—as long as you know what to order, that is (more on that below). The trio of Frapps is inspired by none other than the Sanderson sisters from Hocus Pocus.

Each off-menu item is crafted to match one of the three sisters’ classic outfits, and each drink is sure to be a picture-perfect moment for social media. (The verdict is still out on how your taste buds will react!)
To enjoy the Frapps yourself, ask your barista for one of the Totally The Bomb recipes below.
For Winifred—the leader of the pack—order a grande green tea Frappuccino with a pump of peppermint and a pump of white mocha syrup. Ask them to top it off with whipped cream and strawberry shavings. The funky flavor is bound to mimic Win’s style and personality and will add a refreshing, cool burst to your day.

For Sarah—the kooky blonde played by Sarah Jessica Parker—ask for a grande Violet Drink with extra berries, but ask them to substitute the coconut milk for soy milk and ask them to double blend it. To complete the drink, request a touch of whipped cream and a sprinkle of ginger powder. The purple and yellow end look expertly brings Sarah’s look to life.
Lastly, for Mary—the bonkers witch who flies around on a vacuum cleaner—order a grande strawberries and cream Frappuccino. Then, ask your barista to sub the sweetener for white mocha and mix in a few strawberries while they’re at it. Lastly, ask for strawberry puree and a mocha drizzle on the top and bottom of the drink. And, of course, don’t forget whipped cream!
While these Hocus Pocus-themed drinks aren’t technically designed by Starbucks, they’re easy for baristas to make and sure to be a colorful addition to your Halloween preparation routine.
Plus, now that the release of Hocus Pocus 2 is pushed back due to the pandemic, we could all use a little Sanderson sister fun in the meantime.
